About us
As the name depicts, the Association came into being at the close end of the 20th Century hence the name „EDO MILLENNIUM“. To be precise, Edo Millennium was founded on the 12th of December,1999 with 12 concerned Edo Citizens in attendance under the leadership of Alex Otakho and the place of the inaugural meeting was Bonn: the former capital of the then Western Germany.
This objective, you will agree with us, is mammoth in all its ramifications. With the desire to make visible impact here in Europe, Africa and the World, Edo Millennium, in her leadership and motivating role, collaborated with the Edos in other parts of Germany to form the Edo Community of Nigeria. Bonn, Mannheim,Darmstadt, Harmburg and the host Stuttgart were the pioneers of this body. Nice to say that the Edo Community of Nigeria, Germany, today, has spread through the length and breadth of Germany.
As this organisation cannot run itself alone an interim governing body was inaugurated to map-out the guiding laws and the machinery of government for the Association. This Ad-hoc committee whose members later formed the first executives of the Union had Mr. Otakho Alex as the head. Mr. Alex Otakho’s presidency lasted till 2003, thereafter the mantle of leadership was handed-over to Mr. Igiede Ivbievbiokun lasted to 2005.
Mr. Jackson Edoseghe Sonnie, the 3rd President ruled from 2005 to 2007.
Mr. Omozokpea Frank Moses succeeded the last President and he is the President to date.
So far, Edo Millennium, can boast to date of 50 active members. Moreover, Edo Millennium is the strongest Edo group in Germany to date.
